‘I forgot he’s still one of us’: Some Chelsea fans react to international display of £ 33million player

Chelsea fans were delighted and slightly surprised to see Michy Batshuayi score a goal for Belgium last night.
Their shock didn’t happen because he scored; this was brought about because many may have forgotten that he’s still in the Blues books.
Batshuayi scored the first goal in an 8-0 loss to Belarus last night, in a Belgian side that was without Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard.
It was the 27-year-old’s 22nd goal in just 33 appearances for his national team, a strike rate equal to anyone at this level.
Blues fans will certainly wish he could translate that kind of consistency into his club form.
The ‘Batman’ joined Chelsea in 2016 from Marseille for £ 33million (BBC Sport) after a very good season in Ligue 1.
His career at Stamford Bridge has stuttered and stumbled ever since.

He was sent on four separate loans following his move from Marseille, the last of which was to Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.
Just one goal in 18 games with the Eagles is a pretty scary comeback for a forward who typically catches a handful more wherever he goes.
But there is still hope for Batshuayi to rekindle his flame at Chelsea.
Thomas Tuchel distributes lifelines left, right and center, so it wouldn’t be the biggest shock if he did it with the Belgian.
