American Idol Star Avalon Young, who appeared on the show in 2016, shared the tragic news that she has brain cancer.
Friends and family of the 26-year-old have set up a GoFundMe page for the singer, who now needs a second surgery, as well as radiation and chemotherapy following a 16-hour surgery to remove a tumor.
“Avalon has minimal confidence, is a freelance artist and freelance singer-songwriter,” the page description reads.

“We hope to help him with some of the financial burden resulting from these medical expenses. No amount is too little.”
As of Tuesday, the campaign has raised over $ 66,000 to reach the goal of $ 100,000.
Avalon first revealed the tragic diagnosis in early April.
Avalon appeared on the show in 2016
“I got the worst news of my life after thinking I was completely recovering from this tumor surgery,” she wrote in an April 3 post.
“I have cancer in my brain and I need to direct and take care of it. A second surgery, then chemotherapy and radiotherapy (sic).”
“It’s unreal to receive this news at the age of 26,” she added.
“Everything is going to be fine, the trip is going to be wild, but I’m ready for it.”
Avalon shared the news on Instagram
After suffering from partial seizures, an MRI revealed that she had a ‘legion tumor mass on my left frontal lobe’.
The tumor was the size of a peach and was removed.
But then came the diagnosis of the doctors who more surgery was needed.
Avalon appeared on the ABC series in 2016 when it aired on NBC. She was elected alongside Lee Jean after Idol’s Grammy Hits week.
