Towards the end of the 2010s, William Levy triumphed as a leading actor in Television with titles like “Passion“, beside Susana González and Fernando Colunga; “Attention to the Angel”, alongside Maite Perroni, “Sortilegio”, with Jacqueline Bracamontes and “Triumph of Love”, making a pair again with the old RBD. Professionally, everything seemed to have gone well for the Cuban actor who, even before working in Aztec lands, had had a few appearances in Miami soap operas.

However, Levy tried further and after traveling through Mexico he decided that the best thing would be to go to Hollywood to make his way as an actor. This is how in 2011 he was chosen as the male model of “I am in you” from Jennifer Lopez.

Listed as one of the favorites of this 2012 edition, the Cuban did not take first place but managed to be crowned best third in the ABC contest.

“My beautiful people!!!! I have no words to tell you how much I love you and how much I appreciate all the love and support you have given me throughout this journey. When I decided to put myself in this situation, it was in order to explore new territory in my life and my career, to have fun and at the same time to have fun for you, to give to you and to give me the opportunity to share in a different and special way, so that you know a little more about the real William, the one who was born in a beautiful town called Cojímar in the city of Havana and not the one that sometimes disrespectful people who don’t even know me dare to say. I think after all, I achieved everything I wanted… I’m so proud of you. I feel closer to you than ever. And that was all I wanted. You and my beautiful family are the best prize life and any competition can give me!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!! See you in NY this morning!! You are the best !!!!wrote Levy in May 2012.

Building on this short experience with him, Levy continued to seek an opportunity in Hollywood. The next step would be in 2014, with a romantic comedy titled “The Single Moms Club“, alongside Nia Long (the girlfriend and fiancée of Will Smith’s character in The Prince of Bel-Air).

That same year, he starred in “intoxicated», an American erotic drama that deals with strong themes such as sexual addiction and infidelity, and tells the story of a successful businesswoman who satisfies her obsessions clandestinely. It is based on the book by African American author Zane. The film had 8% on Rotten Tomatoes, as most reviews were negative.

About Quinton, his character in this film, Levy said in 2014:He’s a character with many layers and ups and downs… He’s a charismatic and very sensitive performer, but as the story unfolds, his dark side comes out.

Three years later, in 2017, a great opportunity would arise for the actor in Hollywood with the film “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”. the sixth and final film in the saga of “resident Evil”. Featuring Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, William Levy and Iain Glen, this film received mixed reviews and grossed $312 million worldwide at the box office.

That same year, the Cuban actor was called to the casting of “girl tripa romantic comedy starring Regina Hall, Tiffany Haddish Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Larenz Tate and Mike Colter and directed by Malcolm D. Lee. (Scary Movie 5).

In 2018, Levy joined the third season of “Star” (star by Lee Daniels), a American television series that combines drama and musical comedy. In this last opus, the Cuban actor played Matthew Ferrera, a media mogul who specializes in scamming.

“They told me I was too blonde to be Latino, too Latino to be American. Yes, there are more opportunities, but they are for those who have an appearance that meets existing stereotypes“, indicated the Cuban, who after putting his Hollywood dreams on hold, decided to create his own Latin American film production company called “William Levy Entertainment”.

“There comes a time when you have to decide what you want in life and I realized that I preferred to focus on mine.added Levy, who explained that his main current professional goal is to do things “in front of and behind the cameras” that enrich the lives of his people.
