Singer Ne-Yo’s Wife Announces Marriage Crash, Cites Infidelity
Crystal Smith, wife of American singer and songwriter Ne-Yo, announced on Sunday that she has officially split with the R&B artist.
In a statement on her Instagram page, the mother-of-three said that for eight years of their marriage, she had shared her husband with many women “who sell their bodies to him without protection”.
She said she would no longer lie to the public or pretend their marriage was working.
Crystal wrote: “Eight years; Eight years of lies and deceptions. Eight years of unknowingly sharing my life and my husband with many women who sell their bodies to him without protection… to the last!
“To say I am heartbroken and disgusted is an understatement. Asking me to stay and accept it is absolutely insane; the mentality of a narcissist.
“I’m not going to lie to the public anymore or pretend it’s something it’s not.”
She noted that although she had three children from the marriage, she was left with “lost years and heartache”.
She continued, “I choose myself, I choose my happiness and my health and my respect. I gained three beautiful children, but nothing but lost years and heartache.
“I ask you all to stop sending me videos or information about his cheating, because what he is doing is no longer my concern. I am not a victim. I choose to stand tall with my head held high.
“If someone can’t love you the way you deserve, then it’s up to you to love yourself. With no hate in my heart, I only wish him the best.
The singer’s wife signed the statement with her maiden name – Crystal Renay – which indicated that she had given up her husband’s surname.
Born Shaffer Smith, the singer renewed his wedding vows to Crystal in April 2022.
